The Office of Legislative Legal Services is the impartial internal attorney for the Colorado General Assembly, drafting laws, drafting bylaws, reviewing bylaws, commenting on actions taken, and serving as a legislative information resource for the public. The Office of Legal and Legislative Services reports to the Legal Services Committee. Colorado legislature legal staff will shred old records on every bill and amendment prepared for members of the General Assembly — some dating back to the 1930s — if the legislature approves a proposed new record-keeping policy.
